Know the Score – Selective Enrollment High Schools

Directions: Enter your child’s grades from 7th grade. If you do not know all of your child’s numbers, make an estimate.

If your child is in the middle of 7th grade, this calculation is a useful reality check to help demonstrate how current performance can impact high school admissions success.

If your child is in 7th grade, this is a necessary tool which should be used prior to submitting your child’s application form. Always put your most competitive school first in your ranking.

If you do not know your Socio-Economic Tier, click on the Find your Group Number link below to pop up a map of the Tier system.

NOTE: CPS has changed its Selective Enrollment admissions formula. The NWEA/MAP test has been removed from this formula. Admissions are determined by final 7th grade grades (50%) and the Selective Enrollment Entrance Exam (50%).

We will update our SCORE calculator once we have more recent data from CPS that reflects this change.
