Calculating Your Target Academic Center Score
Directions: Enter your child’s scores from 5th grade. If you do not know all of your child’s numbers, make an estimate.
If your child is in the middle of 5th grade, this calculation is a useful reality check to help demonstrate how current performance can impact high school admissions success.
If your child is in 6th grade, this is a necessary tool which should be used prior to submitting your child’s application form. Academic Centers may use your ranking to determine their acceptance, so you need to be both ambitious and realistic.
NOTE: CPS has changed its Selective Enrollment admissions formula. The NWEA/MAP test has been removed from this formula. Admissions are determined by final 5th grade grades (50%) and the Academic Center Admissions Test (50%).
We will update our SCORE calculator once we have more recent data from CPS that reflects this change.
