Algebra Exit Exam Program (8th Graders)

In order for a student to place out of Algebra I in any Chicago Public High school, he/she must pass the Algebra Exit Exam. Placing out of algebra permits students to enroll in more advanced high school math programs, including AP Calculus and AP Statistics. Improved algebra skills will help students taking any of the various high school math placement tests.

SelectivePrep is offering a 12 hour program to help prepare students for the Math Placement Exa. SelectivePrep’s course will contain extensive algebra content review, exercises, and homework.Tuition for the SelectivePrep Program is $325. A minimum deposit of $100 is required to hold your spot, with the balance due the first class. Class size is limited to 20 students, so don’t delay.

Session 2 Developing Equations from Charts/Graphs, Finding Dependent Variables; Inequalities; Linear Equations (two variables, without solutions, etc.)
Session 3 Developing Equations from Word Problems; Session 1 & 2 Review; Coordinate Geometry (Graphing Linear Equations; Translating Tables into Graphs; Graphing Inequalities)
Session 4 Introduction to Functions; Function Types (Exponential, Quadratic, Absolute Value, etc.) Factoring Quadratic Equations; Session 3 & 4 Review; Practice Test & Practice Test Review
